Caribbean check in

Hi all,
Yesterday les saintes, today sailed back to guadaloupe and tmrw Montserrat (which you might remember had a volcanic eruption in 95).
All well !!
Hard to succinctly describe this scene!   Right now I am the only one on the boat which is kinda a treat but kinda odd cause as a whole there is not a whole lot of that !
It's beautifully warm and surprise surprise --breezy!!
Troy doing well and definitely knows his way around this world!
Hope all well and keeping my fingers crossed that baby jack coming soon!!

Greetings from OZ

Greetings from Oz,
All well here.  Chilly now as we are into our winter.  Fortunately, we still have days in the 70-80s but cold at night!
John and I will be going to Japan early in June.  Will be a good adventure.  And not so long after that, we will be able to catch up with you all in person, which will be lovely as always.
Love, Lisa

LFN 96

LFN#96

Hello All,

Good to see Pam & Troy together in the photo----both looking great!  All is good here--still waiting for spring.  Since we've been home, we've had very little sun/warmth.  We did manage to get our poor tree chopped up and hauled away.  Now we have not one of our original trees left :(  Yesterday and today we finished buying/planting flowers, so that helps things look summery!    Last week was a busy one, but classes end this week so things will slow down.  This Wednesday is "Paint Your Wagon" and I'm already singing Where am I going.......I don't know.......  Our first Rockies game is also this week and golf and SJH and a play.  Golf didn't really get any better, but I now know I don't have to count strokes more than 10!  What a relief!   Hoping all is good with everyone!  More Eastern Europe pics below.

Love,
San

Mother&Son

Greetings from guadaloupe

Greetings from Guadaloupe!  All is well!  It's been great hanging with troy!
Initially on arrival on Monday before Troy arrived on Tuesday I was picked up by my airbnb host.  Very urban but it was good.  I explored a bit--kinda uncharted water cause really I am not used to bring in foreign territory on my own. On my walkabout I was kinda doing a clover always swinging back to a familiar spot !  BUT I didn't get lost which was good !!  There was also this crazy German staying there who entertained me a bit.
We are on this beautiful, 53 foot French boat called an Amel.  It has a dishwasher, clothes washer and three air conditioners, two kayaks, two bikes along with whatever else.
Sleeping has been a dream (pun intended)😗. At night it's pitch black, an itty bitty amount of rocking and cool as a cute!  I haven't slept this well in years.
Our hosts are quite nice!  Drew is the rocket scientist (astronaut) and Lilli his American born but raised in Switzerland wife.  Lilli also is a nurse.  Everyone gets along nicely (although I can't imagine there won't be moments)
I return 20 June from St Thomas where Lilli is also leaving the boat.  Short of that and knowing we will be repairing the Genoa tmrw...well don't know much more.
Today we rode bikes to the market.  We got a mahi-mahi for dinner ---3# fish for 14€. The produce is quite nice and we are eating well.  Guess cooking is kinda my job but there is no question lilli can cook so maybe we will share.
Anna hope you are not too uncomfortable!!

Hi All!

Bittersweet day. Missing Mums. Remembering all the beautiful memories.

Wishing the rain, wind and snow adios...enough.

Dealing with squirrels in the attic. Currently, we have relocated, INDIVIDUALLY, 6 furry friends. Not sure if we are done?? Calling Tom the Squirrel Whisperer.

Toms groin pain appears to be in the rear view mirror. Trying another PMR  prednisone taper.

Pam, enjoy the hot, humid, sunny and beautiful Caribbean!  Hi to Troy, sorry we missed him in St. Lucia.

LFN#95---May 10, 2015

Hello Everyone,

Here is my first attempt at doing this by myself!  Not only is this a sad day for all of us, but we woke up to my favorite Cypress laying across our front courtyard.  Too much snow for such a tall tree...  We're in the process of calling places for tree removal.  We just got our backyard re-planted and now we have to deal with the front.  This crazy weather!  Second Mother's Day in a row that we've had snow, and, to be honest, maybe it fits the mood of the day---missing Mom!  We had a really enjoyable cruise to Eastern Europe----better than I expected!  There are a lot of depressing things about these countries as they continue to recover from the communist years, but they are making progress!  Other than Hungary, my favorite countries were Bulgaria and Romania!  A few pics below:

Hope everyone is doing well!  Thanks, Pam, for moving us into more-advanced technology with this blog!  Also, safe travels to you and hello to Troy!

34 weeks today!!!

May 2015 & Lisa's first "blog"

Hello to All,
Well lets see if I can mange my first "post."
Pam, WELL DONE for taking the LFN to the next level.  It is a lovely idea and you did a great job.  Thank you!!  I have just enjoyed looking at some of the old LFNs on it, something I have not done much of, in spite of having all the copies of it since #1.  And I really hope the younger generation of Lepores++ take up the challenge to post regularly.  It is very likely that what they are doing in their lives is more interesting than what the oldies are...  Or so it always seems.
Its raining here---again.  It has been a very wet few days, months, years.  Luckily, in between the rain time, we have many many beautiful days.  Its still Queensland-- beautiful one day, perfect the next, as they say here.
Back to Aussie slang.  Sorry for repeats.  But if you're hearing them from me twice, they are probably worth it:)   Shooftee, shufti--a look, an inspection.
Love to All,
Lisa

lfn #83 hint, hint to the youngsters (under 31yo)

Hello Everyone,

I was just thinking how nice it would be to hear from the nieces/nephews out there...  For instance, Anna L, how goes the pregnancy, Anna T, how about that new job, Kalee, how is school, Nick, how goes the teaching, and Allie, how is the skiing coming along???  Take a moment and give us a quick update---doesn't have to be lengthy :)  All good here---loved that taste of spring last week, but, typical for Colorado,  it's snowing as we speak.  Tomorrow morning I begin my new position at SJH---Welcome Desk/Gift Shop.  Don is off to Miami on Friday for a few days to spend some time with Misti and kids.  Pooch and I will hold the fort down.  ................and that about sums it up for us!  This week:  Presidents' Day & Ash Wednesday!  Happy Fat Tuesday!  Pic below---just a happy-looking??? fellow in Viet Nam!

LFN #84

Hello All,

Kind of a nice little snowfall we had here the last day or two!  Enough, though, for this time around.  I stayed in all day today, but I will need to get out tomorrow or cabin fever will get the best of me!  I did walk pooch up and down the street a couple times trying to get him to do his p's, as he didn't seem to like the path I shoveled him out back!  Finally, he came through!  Good hearing from all of you who responded last week!  Keep it up!  I'm watching the Academy Awards which is dddrrraaagggiiinnnggg on....  I think the only movie I've seen that has been nominated is American Sniper.  Hopefully, I'll make it down to SJH tomorrow to work the welcome desk.  Then at 2:00 it's out to DIA to pick-up Don.  That's about it from this end.  Hope you're all doing well, staying warm, (or in the case of those down under, staying dry) and enjoying the time indoors :)

Love,

Hi all,
-- just having a bit of a lazy day! It's hard for me to believe that 30 years ago today I had Troy (when I was 29 1/2)!!
... WOW!!  where has all the time gone?Anyway life is good--- just trying to reset myself and getting used to having unstructured time!!
Right now I have the basement just totally torn up trying to organize possessions of Rob and mine that have needed organizing for years !!!  Each container is like a Pandora's box!  So, One "pamdoras" box was no less than 30 bicycle inner tubes that I've been saving for years with the ambition of repairing.  Maybe will get around to fixing those now ;).
Speaking of Pandora's box, Rob and I saw a 1929 movie with the name "Pandora's box" that really was just fabulous. It was a silent movie but the theater we saw it at had a musician accompany it was---- really a great movie!!
I'm also trying to duplicate a recipe for these fabulous  butter crisp cookies. Rob & I bought some in the Caribbean that are made by this Belgian company/Destrooper and they are so yummy so I'm gonna try to figure out how to make them using the ingredients listed on the box and how many carbs and sugars are in a serving.  First try in process !!  Will make them using the pizzelle iron!!

Yes, that was quite a snowstorm.  In the middle of it Joanna and I and a couple we know drove down to Oja Caliente, in northern New Mexico to spend a couple of days in hot springs there.  The little town, about 4 hours from Colo. Spgs is known for its hot springs that contain different 'healing metals and compounds'.  There were springs with arsenic, soda, iron lithium and others that I cannot remember that keep you young vibrant and even improve your memory...I think.  A good time was had by all.
Not alot else going on.  Been putting in long work hours at rental props and enjoying it immensely. (kidding).
Hope all is well with you all.  Miss seeing you.    -t

Hello Everyone.
Good to hear your news!
All fine here.  Matt is incredibly lucky to have not been injured worse when he crashed his motorbike on Sunday.  He is fine.  Just very stiff and sore with some road rash  and bumps on his left side.  Perhaps it will convince him to stick with 4 wheels?  We can only hope.
Chris will finally be back at uni next week.  Very long break.  Weather is good.  Hot again after huge rains.  You can practically see things growing!
John and I fine.  Starting to put together details for the Cordell bash in July.
Love to all,
Lisa

Hello Everyone,

Can spring already be here???  I do believe that just last Wednesday it was snowing and then Friday it was in the 70's and the weekend has been beautiful!  Everywhere I went I saw people in shorts & flip flops.  Maybe a little early???   I'm about 99% over the crud, but Don is a week behind me with his cold and still hacking.  Saw American Sniper this weekend which was good.  Last week I was trained in the gift shop at SJH---as part of my new volunteer job, I may be clerking in there at times. I will also be working at the Welcome desk.   Met with the arts and crafts group on Friday and the MHS reunion committee on Saturday.  Let all of us know what you've been up to!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY and MUCH LOVE TO ALL OF YOU!

San

Hello All,
Hope Feb has found you in good spirits and not too cold.
All down under with Goodes is fine.  Boys well.  John and I are going to Sydney for a long weekend with nothing planned except a big coastal walk along some killer beaches.  Sounds rough, hey?
Stay well and Love to all,
Lisa

Not a lot happening here.  Been working on a rental for about 8 days now.  People moved out after spending 5 or 6 years so a complete 'gut' is in order.  Weather has been very spring-like and such a difference from what is happening on the east coast.  The winter is kind of long and am looking forward to the Spring.  All the girls are fine and working hard.  Had a Sunday dinner with Allie, Anna and Anna.  We cooked moms chicken and rice which is my second favorite meal.  It was delicious and brought back memories of old times....  Be good.

Hi all,
It's o'dark thirty and I have the lovely sound of crashing waves in the background here at Ha'ena SP.  It's north shore, Kauai.  Yesterday we hiked the Napali coast which is pretty much unforgettable.  Quite better known and travelled since the first time I hiked on my honeymoon in '80 !!
We have really had a fabulous vacation!!  Robs company did a first class job!  Highlight might have been a snorkel trip that really was a whale watching trip with snorkeling bonus!  The whales were everywhere--at one time two whales flew out of

Oops😁
Just two whales leaping out of the water for us prob a couple hundred yards from the boat.  Anyway it was great!
We leave our little camp here in a few hours and have most of the day to bid adieu to Kauai before we hop to Oahu where we have two full days.
Glad Colorado is having a heat wave!!
Hope all the February birthdays have been happy!!

Hi all!
The pregnancy is going well! Jack is an active little guy in the womb.... But only during the times of about 12am-5am. He is going to be a little night owl. 4 more months to go and I am finally starting to show rather then before- looking like I had one too many hamburgers. Brad has done a ton of stuff to the babies room and it is finally almost finished! He built the baby changing station and it turned out to be amazing! He spends almost all of his free time in there! I think he is the most excited out of anyone!!! I will send pictures soon! We are getting more and more excited as the days go by. Jack almost has more clothes in his closet then I do and even a pair of boots with the fur! Xo

Love!
